HENRY ADKINS DIED THIS MORNING Mrs. Henry Adkins died at her home on South Fifth street in this city this morning after an illness of several months duration. Mrs. Adkins maden (sic. maiden) name was Nellie Harrison and she was born in Veo, September 9th, 1875. About fourteen years ago (sic. Dec. 16, 1894) she was united in marriage to Henry Adkins and they moved to this city where have (sic. they have) since resided. Seven children were born to them, three of whom have preceded their mother in death. The husband and four children, Bennie, Harry, George and Earnest (sic. Ernest Charles) survive. Mrs. Adkins was of frail constitution and during the past three years has been slowly but surely breaking down in health and strength. She was a member of the Christian church since childhood and was always a faithful attendant at the services. Beside her immediate family Mrs. Adkins is survived by her mother and one sister, Ella Dickson, of Custer, Mo. and three brothers, Arthur and Charles Harrison of Trenton, Mo., and Noah Harrison of Ottumwa. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the home conducted by Rev. W. G. Burch. ---- Fairfield Tribune Friday Oct. 1, 1909 Pg. 2 Col. 5 Mrs. Henry Adkins Mrs. Henry Adkins passed away at an early hour on Saturday morning, Sept. 25th. Funeral services were held at the residence on Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. G. Burch, and the body was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery (sic. no record of her burial in Evergreen; it is presumed that she was buried in Old Fairfield Cemetery instead where her other family members are buried). Some of the relatives from a distance who were called to the city by the illness and death of Mrs. Adkins were: Mr. and Mrs. Jennings of Farmington, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mullenix and children of Birmingham, Noah Harrison of Ottumwa, and Mr. and Mrs. McCarty and children of Eldon.
