Description	:	Stratford Courier June 3, 1948 Nels Angstrom, son of Martha and Pete Angstrom, was born northeast of Stratford, Iowa, May 2, 1873, and died suddenly Monday, May 24, 1948, at the age of 75 years and 22 days. He was united in marriage to Betsy Clara Erickson, Sept. 25, 1901. To this union two children were born, a son and a daughter, both of whom survive him. He had lived in Stratford and community all of his life and was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church. Preceding him in death were his mother, father, and two brothers. Read More	Stratford Courier June 3, 1948 Nels Angstrom, son of Martha and Pete Angstrom, was born northeast of Stratford, Iowa, May 2, 1873, and died suddenly Monday, May 24, 1948, at the age of 75 years and 22 days. He was united in marriage to Betsy Clara Erickson, Sept. 25, 1901. To this union two children were born, a son and a daughter, both of whom survive him. He had lived in Stratford and community all of his life and was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church. Preceding him in death were his mother, father, and two brothers. Those left to mourn his departure are his beloved wife and children, Mrs. Martin Mestrum and Milton Angstrom, both of Stratford; one brother, Jonas Angstrom of Stratford, eight grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all. Last rites were held Thursday afternoon, May 27, with a prayer service in the home preceding the services at 2:30 at the Lutheran church. The Rev. F.W. Hanson, pastor of the church, officiated at the services. He used for his sermon theme: "I'm the Cause of Death," taken from God's word in Mark 13:31-37. Three duets for the service were sung by Mrs. Arthur Larson and Miss Velva Berglund, with Miss Myrtle Olson as accompanist. The songs were: "Fade, Fade Each Earthly Joy," "Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross," and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." The flowers were in charge of Misses Hannah Nelson and Hazel Barquist. Following the services the remains were escorted to the South Marion Cemetery for interment. The pallbearers were: Lloyd Angstrom, Harold Angstrom, Leonard Angstrom, Elmer Angstrom, Clarence Angstrom, Orville Anderson, Norman Erickson and Weldon Erickson, nephews of the deceased.
