Wife of Solon Mills Stevens married 29 Sept 1852 in Vermont, and mother of: * Clarence Cushing Stevens * Willard D Stevens * Frederick Solon Stevens * Frank H Stevens Olivia's death certificate lists her parents, Josiah W Cushing and Fanny T Ainsworth, birthplace as Vermont 05 Dec 1835, aged 81 years 16 days, the informant as her son, Fred, and the cause of death 21 Dec 1916 at 4:20 pm, as "Carcinoma of the stomach which was well advanced before I saw her." The undertaker was Walsh Keena Co. The Placer Herald, 23 Dec 1916, p2 Death of Mrs Olivia Stevens Mrs Olivia Stevens, the widow of the late Solon M Stevens and mother of F S and W D Stevens. passed away quietly last Thursday evening to join her husband who had gone just eleven months before; where "There is no death, where starts go down To rise upon some fairer shore. And bright in the heaven's jeweled crown They shine forever more." Hers had been a life to the full of wifely affection, of motherly devotion, and of kindly neighboring, and it is a relief to all who knew her that he was conscious to the last, and that she felt no pain. Since the death of Mr Stevens on January 19th last, she had made up her mind not to tarry long, and took to her bed on the 81st anniversary of her birth and on the 5th of December there to await the final summons. Mrs Stevens was born in East Bethel, Vermont, and joined her husband at Auburn in February 1857, Mr Stevens preceding her a little over a year. Mr and Mrs Stevens wee married sixty-three years three score of which ere passed in Auburn. Their was the ideal married life, and they leave behind an example of love and devotion that is as eloquent as the sweetest sermon. Mrs Stevens was certainly a beautiful character and none knew her but to love her.
