Description	:	Stratford Courier August 1934 Olof Landgren Funeral services for Olof Landgren were conducted by the Rev. A.E. Appelquist in the Baptist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Several songs were sung by the church choir and following the services the remains were removed to Oakwood cemetery for interment. Olof Landgren was born in Segersta socken, Helsingland, Sweden, on Oct. 25, 1848. His death occured Aug. 8, 1934 on which date he had reached the old age of 85 years, 9 months, 13 days. Olof Landgren was born in Segersta socken, Helsingland, Sweden, on Oct. 25, 1848. His death occured Aug. 8, 1934 on which date he had reached the old age of 85 years, 9 months, 13 days. He came to this country with his parents when he was twenty years old and had been a resident of this community ever since with the exception of a short time which he spent in Sac county. Thus for over sixty years he had made his home here almost continuously. He was married to Maggie Samuelson. She died in Boone on Aug. 25, 1914. One son was born to this union, William Charles. He lived to reach mans' estate but died in the year 1900. Deceased was thus left without any living relatives for his parents had passed on a good many years ago. He had made his home in his dwelling here in which he lived alone and lived a peacable life for a good many years but his advanced years made it necessary that he have the care of a home so Mrs. Lou Ballard opened her home for him and for several years he had made his home with her and her son, Bert. His last years were spent in rest and he rarely left the Ballard home but he was visited often by old friends which he seemed to enjoy.
