Read More	Glasco Sun, Feb. 27, 1947, page 1: Otto William Horn, son of Karl Christian and Julianna Christina Horn, was born May 6, 1873, at Glasco, Kansas, and departed this earthly life on February 20, 1947, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was just two months and two days younger than his father was at the time of his death. He was the last of the family of seven children to be called to his eternal home. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of Glasco of which his parents were charter members and remained in that faith until the end. Many times he told the story of helping build this church building when yet a young man. He was born in the log cabin on his father's homestead. In 1880 he moved with his parents to his Grandfather Biettner's* homestead where he grew to manhood. On December 31, 1895, he was united in marriage to Hulda Berndt. They began their married life on the homestead of his childhood where they lived until the fall of 1905 when they moved to the place just south where they spent the rest of their lives. To this union were born eight children who survive him. They are: Letha, of Washington, D.C.; Elsie Wealand of Glasco; Theodore of Hillsdore, Wyoming; Edmund of Glasco; Sophia of the home; Harold of Garnett Park, Maryland; Marie of the home; and Eleanor Thompson of Quantico, Virginia. After the death of his wife on April 22, 1944, even though he has been in poor health for the past three years he carried on until a few months ago when he finally had to give up. At the time of his death he was one of the directors of the First National Bank of Glasco. Besides his children he leaves to mourn seven grandchildren: Gene and Phyllis Wealand, Myrna, Edra, Dixie and Barbara Horn, and Richard Thompson, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Glasco, at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, by the Rev. Geo. Eller, Lutheran minister at Beloit, Kansas. Pallbearers were Lou Wealand, Elmer Halderson, Rudolph Grittman, Arden Halderson, George Gruenthal, and Joe Sheets. Honorary pallbearers were Jean Noel, E.E. Butler, Martin Butler, Geo. Chapin, Joe Cool, and Tom Butler. Appropriate songs were provided by the Rev. O.K. Oelke and Mrs. Oelke, accompanied by Rosetta Cohrsen, all of Hanover, Kansas. Flower ladies were Mrs. Lenora Kellogg, Mrs. Priscilla Cox, and Mrs. Alice Horn.
