Description	:	Patricia J. Chase, 88, of Palo, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at her home after a six year battle with cancer. Pat was born at home in Council Bluffs on January 1, 1927 to Raymond and Laura Grace Loper. Pat married Carroll Chase on September 9, 1943 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Council Bluffs. She held the positions of President of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary, President of Zonta International (a professional women’s club) and at age 12 she was president of the local garden club for children. She loved flowers and gardening and she bowled on a women’s scratch... Read More	Patricia J. Chase, 88, of Palo, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at her home after a six year battle with cancer. Pat was born at home in Council Bluffs on January 1, 1927 to Raymond and Laura Grace Loper. Pat married Carroll Chase on September 9, 1943 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Council Bluffs. She held the positions of President of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary, President of Zonta International (a professional women’s club) and at age 12 she was president of the local garden club for children. She loved flowers and gardening and she bowled on a women’s scratch league. Pat was a wonderful caregiver, she helped care for her mother who had multiple sclerosis, and cared for her father Raymond in her home for the last five months of his life. Pat and Carroll owned and operated Chase Lawn & Garden Center/Chase Drive-in for 15 years with their four boys. Pat and Carroll later bought Wilson Motorcycles in Cedar Rapids and renamed it Cedar Rapids Honda and relocated it to 16th Avenue SW. They owned and operated the dealership for 22 years with their sons. Pat faithfully worked with and supported her husband in any endeavor he took on. She cared for her husband at home through all stages of his dementia. Pat and Carroll enjoyed fishing at their winter cabin in Ashdown, Arkansas and were members of the Church at Covington. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Carroll in August 2015, her brothers Raymond and Louis Loper, two grandchildren, Robbie and Sami, sister-in-law Marcella, brothers-in-law, Lyle Graham and David Feder, and grandson-in-law Chris Ehrke. Visitation: Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home. Services: Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Clinton Jeffers. Burial: 2:45 p.m., Tuesday at Ridgewood Cemetery, Council Bluffs. Memorials may be directed to the Church at Covington. Obituary & photo published by Teahen Funeral Home
