Patricia was born in Hays, Kansas to Edgar Ross Howard and Rose Margaret McGuire on June 26th 1926. She was soon adopted by Christopher Dade and Frances Adelman of Topeka. Read More	Patricia Marie Degan passed away Tuesday February 14, 2011 in Topeka surrounded by her family. Patricia was born in Hays, Kansas to Edgar Ross Howard and Rose Margaret McGuire on June 26th 1926. She was soon adopted by Christopher Dade and Frances Adelman of Topeka. Patricia attended elementary school in Topeka and High School at the Ursuline Academy Paola, Kansas. She attended Loretta Heights College in Denver, Colorado graduating in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. April 15th, 1950 she married Edgar William Degan Jr. at Holy Name Church, (he preceded her in death), they had three children. They survive. Patricia worked at Billies Ladies Apparel in Westboro Plaza and Saint Francis Hospital. She also was a founding member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, food, and a dry martini three olives. Her house was always open to friends and she was known for her Christmas parties after Midnight Mass. She was kind, strong and accepting of all people and lived life on her own terms. Her biggest joy was raising her children. She is survived by three loving children Rebecca Becky (Steve) Stock of Houston, Texas, Kathleen Kathy Bryant of Leawood, Kansas and Edgar Ed and (Jan) Degan of Denver, Colorado. She had four grandchildren; Ashley Stock, Richardson, Texas, Michael Degan Bryant deceased, Mark Bryant, Kirkwood, Washington and Clare (Degan) Reisenauer, Denver Colorado. There will be a Memorial Mass on Thursday February 17th, 10:00 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church. Friends are encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Library Foundation, Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library Red Carpet Services 1515 SW 10th Ave Topeka, KS 66604-1374.
