Mr. Henderson was born in Waynesboro on March 22, 1948, a son of Willie Thomas and Essie Elizabeth Lowe Henderson of Lyndhurst. He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School on June 5, 1968, and entered military service 15 days later. Mr. Henderson was married to the former Lena Mae Spence of Lyndhurst on Oct. 29, 1968. He received basic training at Ft. Bragg, N. C., and was then transferred to Ft. Polk, La. After a home leave he was sent to Seattle, Wash., and left for Vietnam from there on March 27. He attended Lyndhurst United Methodist Church. In addition to his widow and parents, he is survived by four brothers, Robert Henderson of Star Route A., Staunton, Ronnie Henderson and James Henderson, both of Waynesboro, and Arthur Henderson of Verona; three sisters, Mrs. Jean Morris of Lyndhurst, Mrs. John Troxell of Staunton, and Mrs. Mack Brooks of Stuarts Draft; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Henderson of Lyndhurst; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be members of the Memorial Division of Ft. Belvoir. Honorary pallbearers will be James L. (Sonny) Robertson, Ralph Fitzgerald, Tommy Oliver, Rocky Simmons, Roy Breeden, Clifton Pugh, Steven Campbell, Michael Campbell, Roger Bryant Jr., Barry Barney, Earl (Buddy) Hyden, David Claytor, Dale Ray Thompson, and Donnie Cullen.
