Description	:	Bob was born May 17, 1931, in Emporia KS, the son of Clarence Faye Banister Sr. and Mary Irene (Ferren) Banister. He graduated from Emporia High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College, where he participated in football and baseball, and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity. He enjoyed coaching baseball at Ken Berry, eating out after church on Sunday, meeting his retired friends for breakfast at McDonalds, getting together with family during the holidays, watching sports on TV, attending his grandchildren's sports and activities, and sharing their accomplishments with everyone. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joan; their children, Ronald (Terri) Banister, Wildwood MO, Jerry (Lorrie) Banister, Topeka, Julie (Bob) Hoppas, Topeka, Robert (Stacey) Banister, Topeka; ten grandchildren, Paul (Kisha) Banister, Katie Banister, Wendy (Danny) Madere, Christy (Brian) Bellifemine, Alicia Banister, Jason (Sheri) Hoppas, Brian (LaChelle) Hoppas, Derek Hoppas, John Banister, Hayley Banister and eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Dayton, Adison, Aiden, Sam, Xavier, and Sophia. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Banister and his brother Clarence Faye Banister, Jr. Bob appreciated and his family thanks all the nurses and aides at Rolling Hills Health Care and the extra personal support from Midland Care Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 7th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St, Topeka KS 66614. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka KS 66606.
