Description	:	Rosa Hayes was born near Franklin, Nebraska, February 19, 1876 and passed away in the Cambridge Hospital at midnight, August 10, 1926; age 50 years, 6 months and 21 days. She was one of family of twelve children, of whom only nine are now living. Her twin sister, Daisy Pearson, passed away ten years ago last May. Martin,... Read More	Rosa Hayes was born near Franklin, Nebraska, February 19, 1876 and passed away in the Cambridge Hospital at midnight, August 10, 1926; age 50 years, 6 months and 21 days. She was one of family of twelve children, of whom only nine are now living. Her twin sister, Daisy Pearson, passed away ten years ago last May. The deceased grew to womanhood at the home of her parents near Franklin. She was graduated from the Franklin High School in 1894 and taught school 3 years. She was united in marriage to Edmond P. Martin, September 7, 1897 and resided on a farm ten miles north east of Franklin until the spring of 1912 when they moved to the present home north west of town. She was converted when a young lady and remained true to her faith until the end. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church where she was always a willing worker for her Master. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served in other branches of work. She had not been in good health for some time, but she would not consent to see a Doctor until about 3 months ago. In July she was taken to the Cambridge hospital, where all had great hopes of her recovery. After the first few days she began to fail. On August 5th an operation was performed. Everything known to human skill was done, but to no avail. After her patient suffering the end came and she went to meet her Master. Although her last days were spend with much pain, she always thought of others. She had said so many times, if it was God's will, she was willing to go. As her spirit left her body a smile came over her face. She leaves to mourn her departure a devoted husband, one son, Paul, and three daughters Mrs. Lois Versaw, Helen, and Irma; Her mother, Mrs. R.J.E. Hayes, five brothers and four sister. Our darling loving Mother, Has journeyed on above, From this dark and dreary world, To a home of light and love. Our hearts tho' filled with sorrow, Are yet most truly blessed, In the thought that our lost Mother Now with Jesus is at rest. Her earthly life is over, But her mission is not done; For her angel hands will beckon And gently lead us on. Till in the realms of heaven With Jesus at the Throne, No more to part with loved ones We shall all be gathered home. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church, Saturday afternoon at 2:30, J. F. Hageman, an old friend of the family in charge. Card of Thanks We wish to express to our friends and neighbors our sincere thanks for their cards and letters to the departed and for their thoughtful deeds preceding and during the time of death and burial of our wife and mother. We are grateful for the words of comfort in both message and song, and also for the beautiful floral offerings. Acts like these cause pleasant thoughts to be emanated with this from the dark hours.
