Education - common His obituary, published in the Sherman County Times/Independent, July 17, 1913: Samuel Daddow Passes Away Mr. Samuel Daddow died at his home in Loup City last Sunday at 12:30 p. m., after an illness of about three months. That Mr. Daddow could not survive long was evident to those that were nearest him, and Mr. Daddow long before the end came fully realized it. Samuel Daddow was born in Cornwall, England, Sept. 4, 1852, and came to America, arriving here July 4, 1869, settling in Wisconsin and remaining there 5 years. From there they moved to Iowa where Mr. Daddow was married to Miss Elvira Goodwin Sept. 20, 1879. To this union were born 7 children: Alonzo, living at Austin, Pearl Baliman, residing at St. Paul, Frank, living 4 miles south of Loup City, Edna, who lives at Austin, and Mable, Earl and Evelyn who lives at home. Mr. Daddow moved with his family to Sherman county about thirty two years ago and settled on a farm near Wiggle Creek, and about eight years ago moved to Loup City where he has continuously resided. The deceased united with the United Brethern (sic) Church about 22 years ago and on moving to Loup City he united with the Methodist church and was a faithful attendant. In the death of Mr. Daddow, Loup City looses (sic) a good substantial citizen and one who could at all times be relied on to promote only the best things. He was a stockholder of the Loup City state bank. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Dr. D. A. Leeper officiating. The A. O. U. W. lodge, of which the deceased was a member held a short service at the grave. The pall bearers consisted of four brothers and two brother-in-laws (sic) of the deceased. The entire community sympathizes with the sorrowing relatives of the deceased.
