Gilfoy, 3; and Catharine Gilfoy, 1, resided together. In late 1866, Sarah Gilfoy, 29; daughter Mary Gilfoy, 9; and son Phillip Gilfoy, 5, sailed aboard the S. S. City of Washington from Liverpool, England, and arrived in New York, New York, on January 2, 1867. On the 1870 Census, Lawrence, Stark County, Ohio, Philip Kilfoy [sic-Gilfoy], coal miner, resided with his wife Sarah, daughter Mary A., son Philip [sic-Phillip], daughter Sarah J., and infant daughter Ella/Ellen Kilfoy [sic-Gilfoy]. On the 1880 Census, Tuscarawas, Stark County, Ohio, Philip Gilfoy, head of the household, resided with his wife Sarah, son Philip [sic-Phillip], daughter Sarah J., daughter Ellen, son Henry, and daughter Elizabeth Gilfoy. The father was a coal miner who was ill with asthma. Sarah's husband, Philip Gilfoy, died in Stark County, Ohio, between 1880 and 1889. On the 1900 Census, Nevins, Vigo, Indiana, Sarah Gilphoy [sic-Gilfoy], 64, widowed and born May 1836 in Ireland, was the head of the household where her daughter, Elizabeth Gilphoy [sic-Gilfoy], resided. It was stated that Sarah had borne ten children and that five were living. The five were Mary Ann, Phillip, Sarah Jane, Henry, and Elizabeth.
