Description	:	Mary Ann Gilfoy was the daughter of Philip Gilfoy and Sarah Burke. Both of her parents were born in Ireland. She married married Henry Davey, son of Bernard Davy and Sophia McKibbon, on September 17, 1878, in Stark County, Ohio; they were married until her death. The couple had six children, five of whom survived, namely: John Bernard ("Barney") Davey (1879-1951), Sarah ("Sadie") Marie (Davey) [Knox] Fiock (1881-1955), Phillip Aloysius Davey (1883-1964), Sophia J. Davey (1886-1904), and Joseph Edward Davey (1888-1959). On the 1900 Census, Florida, Parke County, Indiana, it was stated that Mrs. Davey had borne six children and that five were living. On the 1910 Census, Florida, Parke County, Indiana, it was stated that Mrs. Davey had borne six children and that four were living; daughter Sophia died in 1904. HENRY DAVEY DIES Mrs. Henry Davey, 67 years old, a former resident of Rosedale, died last night [sic-last week] at her home in Roggen, Colo., where she had lived for the last few years. The body arrived in Terre Haute Sunday morning [, June 13th,] and was taken to the home in Rosedale, which the Daveys maintained while in Colorado. Surviving are the husband, Henry Davey, three sons, Barney Davey of Montezuma, Phillip of Rosedale, and Joseph of Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Sadie Knox of Roggen; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah J. Wall of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. John Buckley of Atherton; one brother, Phillip Davey of Clinton; and two grandchildren, Edward Davey of Montezuma and Rosemary Davey of Clinton. The 3 sons and daughters[sic-the daughter] were with their mother when she died. Mrs. Davey had been ill for the last two months following a stroke of paralysis. She suffered a second stroke about 2 weeks ago. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday at 2 p.m., Father Napp of Clinton officiating. Burial was in Rosedale cemetery." Grandson Edward Davey was the son of John Bernard ("Barney") Davey and his wife, Grace (Downin) Davey. Granddaughter Rosemary (Davey) Burton was the daughter of Joseph Edward Davey and his late wife, Ethel Elsie (Patterson) Davey. The Rosedale Cemetery is managed by the Town of Rosedale, Parke County, Indiana. Due to a fire, their records prior to the 1940s are either spotty or nonexistent. Although there are headstones for Mary Ann Davey, who died in 1926; her husband, Henry Davey, who died in 1939; and their daughter, Sophia J. Davey, who died in 1904, the cemetery has no record of their burials. The cemetery does, however, have records of the burials of Mary Ann and Henry's sons, Joseph Edward Davey, who died in 1959, and Phillip A. Davey, who died in 1964.
