Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Lewis were held Monday, March 14, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Nadim E. Salkaly officiating. Pall bearers were Linley Stinetmates, Dale Lewis, Lewis McCoy, Norman Larson, Roy Lewis, and Bernadette Huntington. Flower bearers were Jenola Oxley, Mary McCoy, and Leila Marvick. Lewis daughter of Benjamin and Nancy Wright was born in Indiana, February 23, 1868, and passed away March 10, 1966 at the age of 98 years, 15 days, at the Shady Lawn Rest Home in Villisca. She was married March 9, 1886 to Jessie J. Lewis, who preceded her in death August 25, 1918. To this union were born nine children, Mrs. Guy (Letha) McCoy and Mrs. Fred (Zula) Stinemates, both of Villisca, Mrs. Ralph (Erma) Huntington of Corning, Mrs. Virgil (Sarah) Larson of Omaha, Nebraska, Floyd of Clarinda, Willard of Seymour, Iowa. Three sons preceded her in death. Roy in infancy, Laysure in 1954, and Jesse in 1962. She had five brothers and sisters, two of whom survive. They are Mrs. Mae Nichols of Springfield, Oregon and Mrs. Alpha Marsh of Villisca. In additon to her six children, she leaves to mourn her loss, 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. She became a Christian when a young girls and has been a faithful member of the church, as long as she was able to attend services. She and her husband resided on farms in Adams and Taylor Counties. She was an active member of the Nodaway and Iveyville Churches. She has lived in Villisca for the past 25 years. She was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and her many friends. Villisca Review, Thursday, March 17, 1966, page 4
