She was born July 27, 1924, in Elmont, the daughter of William and Blanche Tedrow Willhite. She graduated from Seaman High School and was a lifelong Topeka resident. She was born July 27, 1924, in Elmont, the daughter of William and Blanche Tedrow Willhite. She graduated from Seaman High School and was a lifelong Topeka resident. Mrs. Pence was a member of Elmont United Methodist Church, where she served for many years as organist. Other survivors include three sons, David "Lyle" Pence, Gary L. Pence and Gerald W. Pence, all of Topeka; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery. Mrs. Pence will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the mortuary, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Diabetes Association, 837 S.
