Morley, was born near Abilene, Kansas and departed this life September 4, 1970, at the age of 92 years and 13 days. Most of his life was spent in farming in the Longford community. In 1902, he was united in marriage to Tina Cunningham and to this union were born three sons and two daughters. In 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Morley united with the Longford Evangelical Church (now the United Methodist Church) both remained faithful members to the time of death. Thus, Mrs. Morley served the Lord through this church for 58 years and Mr. Morley for 66 years. Mr. Morley was a man of many fine qualities, but probably the quality for which he was best known was that of being a hard and industrious worker. He loved to work in the out-of-doors and had no desire to take life easy or to be idle. He remained amazingly active for one of his age right up to the end of his life. One of the annual highlights of his life in recent years has been riding in the Longford Rodeo Parade and being presented to the crowd as "Longford's oldest Cowboy." He had every intention of taking part in the rodeo festivities again this year right up to a few hours before his passing. But now his long, active and very worthwhile life on this earth has come to its close. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1962 and also a son; Ralph in 1959. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, Howard Morley of Abilene, Kans.; and Harold Morley of Eudora, Ks.,; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Baker of Olathe, Kans.; and Mrs. Lloyd Andrew of Gardner, Kans.; one brother, two sisters; 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; other relatives and any friends. Funeral services were held Monday, September 7, 1970, at the Longford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lloyd V. Kurtz officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ted McCready sang "Near to the Heart of God" and "A Child of the King" with Mrs. Myron Greep as accompanist. Burial was in the Rose Meron Cemetery with Nels Sims, Howard Ferguson, Raymond Bender, John Greep, Sherman Lyles and John Hamme serving as pallbearers. The Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our many friends and neighbors who were so thoughtful at the time of death of our loved one. We appreciate the food brought to the home and the floral tributes were beautiful. Our special thanks to all who remembered us in any way and to the Rev. Kurtz for his comforting words.
