Read More	William Franklin Kippes, 88, Topeka, died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at a Topeka nursing home. He was born Aug. 22, 1907, at Antonia, the son of Jacob and Emma Hefner Kippes. Mr. Kippes farmed northwest of Topeka for 50 years. He also had worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in the Earth Moving Tire Department for 26 years before he retired. Mr. Kippes was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2608, Rubber Workers Local No. 307 and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was married to Lorrain Ann Hortsch on May 6, 1930, at Shaw, Ore. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Arlin Kippes and Harvey Kippes, both of Topeka, Leroy Kippes, East Moline, Ill., and Glenn Kippes, Tucson, Ariz.; five daughters, Norma White, Garden Grove, Calif., Leota York, Grants Pass, Ore., Sara LaRock, San Bernardino, Calif., and Linda Bush and Sondra Lowe, both of Topeka; a sister, Margaret Durant, Mira Loma, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kippes was preceded in death by a son, Larry Kippes, in 1940, and a daughter, Wilma Jean Kippes, in 1949. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Kippes will tie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle No. 503 rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. and a parish rosary recited at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, P.O.
