Description	:	William Henning, Sr. 65, native and lifelong resident of Lancaster County, passed away at 1:30 o'clock Saturday morning at his farm home six miles east of Crete. Three years ago he suffered a stroke from which he never completely recovered. The past three weeks his condition grew worse, and he was confined to his bed. Read More	William Henning, Sr. 65, native and lifelong resident of Lancaster County, passed away at 1:30 o'clock Saturday morning at his farm home six miles east of Crete. Three years ago he suffered a stroke from which he never completely recovered. The past three weeks his condition grew worse, and he was confined to his bed. He was born September 3, 1870 in Olive Branch precinct, Lancaster County, northeast of Kramer. He was baptized in Kramer Lutheran Church, instructed in the christian doctrines in the Lutheran christian day school. He was confirmed by Rev. Huber in March 1885. He was a faithful member of the Lutheran church all his life and served as a trustee for nine years. On February 6, 1896 he was married in that county to Miss Rosina Demmer. Their entire married life was spent on the present farm, east of Crete where they farmed successfully. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Henning and one sister, Mrs. Henry Meinke, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure his invalid wife, three sons, William Jr., George, and Arthur, and two daughters, Mrs. I.G. Prucha and Mrs. Godfrey Bauer, all of the Kramer community; four brothers, Louis, a twin of the deceased; Henry, August, and George; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Reiss and Mrs. Ed Schultz Sr., all living near Kramer. He also leaves nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the farm resident Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, and at the Kramer Lutheran Church at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. William Pebler officiating. Burial was made in the Kramer Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Louis Meinke, Ed Henning, Henry Henning Jr., Alfred Schultz, Louis Reiss, and Walter Henning. Source: The Crete News, July 2, 1936
