Read More	Coon Rapids Enterprise July 29, 1921 Page 1 Mrs. William Bowman died in the Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, Sunday morning, soon after a surgical operation for appendicitis and gallstones. She had been suffering for some little time and during the past week of her life considerably and yet she was able to be about the house and on her feet some of the time. It appears that the nature of her ailments were not definitely known until a short time before surgical treatment was decided upon. The two diseases requiring two operations were too exhausting upon her system to permit it would seem of recovery from them, though there was probably considerable infection due to the development of the diseases. It was a surprising and sad ending of a good wife and mother and neighbor. Mrs. Bowman is well known to almost everyone. She was a longtime resident in the locality and town and by everybody highly respected. She was a very active, energetic woman; ever willing to do her full duty in every obligation which came to her hands and many friends, as well as the relatives, will sorrow over her passing. The remains were brought to Coon Rapids Monday evening and Wednesday the funeral services were held from the Christian church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L. Weil, in the presence of a large number of friends. The following obituary has been kindly furnished us: Adren Powell was born in Clinton county, Iowa, March 20, 1867, being the daughter of Jane M. and George B. Powell. She moved to Greene county with her mother and stepfather, Robert Jameson, where she spent the greater part of her girlhood days. She was married to Wm. Bowman December 24, 1889. Two children were born to this union—Mrs. Ethel Mae Remele and Clarence Wm. Bowman. They lived the greater part of their married life on a farm near the Star church and moved to Coon Rapids seven years ago last March. About nineteen years ago she united with the Christian church at Coon Rapids and she was always faithful and loyal to the end. She was taken to the Lutheran hospital at Des Moines, Friday, July 22, and passed away Sunday, July 24, following an operation, being 54 years, 4 months and 4 days old at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her loss her son and daughter, one grandchild, Clarence Edgar Remele, a son-in-law, Jno. W. Remele, three half brothers— Earl and Robert Jameson of Hampton, Iowa, and B. H. Powell of Portland, Oregon. Also, two half sisters, Mrs. Grace Wright and Mrs. Minnie McMeeken of Portland, Oregon, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
