Glenn Clark in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. Pall bearers were six brothers of the Odd Fellow lodge, including Harmon Day, Walter Buenneke, Norval Caswell, Lew Jordan, George Textor, and Wayne Cooney. Interment was made in the Coon Rapids cemetery by the side of his wife. William Bowman, a son of Samuel and Verena Bowman, was born in Philadelphia, Pa., September 12, 1856 and died October 16, 1936 at the age of 80 years, one month and four days. When but a small boy he moved with his parents to Muscatine county, Iowa. In 1880 he came to Greene county with his brothers and farmed with his brother, Henry, for a few years. During this time he ran the county road grader. Later he bought a farm about six and one half miles northeast of Coon Rapids where he built a home and reared his family. On December 24, 1869 he was married to Miss Adren Powell and they resided on the farm until March 1914 when they moved to Coon Rapids. After retiring from the farm, he purchased an interest in a meat market which later became a market and grocery. He still retained his interest in the store at the time of his death. Mrs. Bowman preceded him in death on July 31, 1921. From that time he made his home with his son, Clarence, and family. Mr. Bowman was the last of eight brothers and one sister. He leaves his two children, Clarence Bowman and Mrs. Ethyl Remele, both of Coon Rapids, and four grandchildren, Clarene and Billy Bowman and Clarence and Loren Remele, besides a number of nephews and nieces and his many friends. He was a kind and loving father, always ready to help others in need and will be greatly missed by his relatives and friends. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Blanchard, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Dailey and Eugene Bowman, all of Letcher, S. Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Flynn, Mrs. Ellen Gibney and son of Davenport; Miss Mayme Bowman of Des Moines; Ernest Hain of Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert Jameson and daughter, Velva, Mrs. Phil Mahneke and daughter Imogene, of Hampton.
