Description	:	Albert R. Givan, son of Herman (Heman) and Clara (Dutcher) Givan was born Nov. 2, 1896, in Adams County, Iowa, and entered into rest Sept. 12, 1986, at Vista View Care Center in Kennewick, Wash., at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 20 days. He attended school at Carbon and Quincy. On July 4, 1920, he married Elpha Simpson. Three children were born to this union, one daughter dying in infancy, one daughter Lois and a son Leo. Givan, son of Herman (Heman) and Clara (Dutcher) Givan was born Nov. 2, 1896, in Adams County, Iowa, and entered into rest Sept. 12, 1986, at Vista View Care Center in Kennewick, Wash., at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 20 days. He attended school at Carbon and Quincy. On July 4, 1920, he married Elpha Simpson. Three children were born to this union, one daughter dying in infancy, one daughter Lois and a son Leo. Albert farmed in Adams County for several years and then the family moved to Michigan where he worked as a metal finisher in an automobile factory. Returning to Adams County, he moved to Prescott and later purchased the Prescott Locker which he operated for several years. In 1960 he moved to California and settled in Seaside. In 1970 he moved to Warden, Wash., to live with their daughter, Lois. A short time later his wife, Elpha passed away, in 1971. Later, Albert returned to Salinas, Calif., and was married to Esther Wilbur. In June 1986 after his health failed, he went to Kennewick, Wash., to be near his daughter, where he passed away. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Elpha: infant daughter; three brothers and a son-in-law. Survivors include his wife, Esther of Salinas, Calif, daughter Lois of Pasco, Wash., a son Leo of Rochester, Minn., a sister Ruth Inlow of Creston: a brother, Jessie Givan of Corning: several grandchildren: great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was an active member of the Hillrest United Methodist Church of Salinas, Calif., where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
