Read More	The obituary for Elpha Pearl (Simpson) Givan reads as follows: Mrs. Albert Givan Elpha Pearl Simpson, daughter of Fred and Effie Simpson, was born in Adams County, Iowa, July 4, 1900 and passed away March 21, 1971, at the Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, Washington, following a long illness. Mrs. Givan spent most of her life in Adams County and was a rural school teacher before she was married to Albert R. GIvan on July 4, 1920 at Corning, Iowa, where they farmed for several years. They later moved to Prescott where they were in the restaurant and locker business before moving to Big Sur, California in June of 1961. They moved to Warden, Washington, last June. Mrs. Givan is survived by her husband, Albert of Warden; a daughter, Mrs. Ken (Lois) Wiltse of Warden: a son, Albert Leo Givan of Byron, Minn; seven grandchildrenand three great-grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Effie Simpson of Prescott, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Carr and Mrs. Clark Carmichael of Corning and Mrs. Margaret White of Carmel, California, two brothers, Byron and Richard Simpson, both of Carmel, California. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Simpson: three brothers, Erwell, Don and Frank Simpson of California and an infant daughter, Ellen Pearl. Services were held on Tuesday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m., in the Eccleston,Penhallurick Chapel of Memories at Moses Lake, Washington, with Rev. Holt officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Warden, Washington.
