Macy, the daughter of Richard and Mary Dean James, was born June 3, 1870 at Junction City, Kansas and passed away at her home in Miltonvale at 2:30 p.m. January 5, 1956, at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 2 days. On October 8, 1890 in Clay County she was married to William L. Macy. To this union ten children were born. Her husband and two children, Bessie May and Newton, preceded her in death. On October 8, 1890 in Clay County she was married to William L. Macy. To this union ten children were born. Her husband and two children, Bessie May and Newton, preceded her in death. Those who survive her home-going are Harold of Oak Hill, Kansas; Ivan of Santa Ana, California; Vera Willis, Meda Brenner and Frances Rawlins, all of Salen Oregon; Mildred Davies of Roswell, New Mexico; Nina Davis of Rochester, Minnesota, and Letha White of Dahlgren, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters also mourn her death; A. H. James, Newton James, and Mrs. Andrew Craig, all of Clay Center, Kansas, and Mrs. Hattie Ford of Concordia, Kansas. At the early age of six years she was led to the Lord by her mother and for many years has been a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Her life was spent in Clay County, until twenty-eight years ago she, with family moved to the Macy home in Miltonvale. For the past three years Mrs. Macy has been in declining health. During this time she has been tenderly cared for by Miss Bertha Oglevie. Chief among her joys was regular attendance at the house of worship and association with her many friends. Her Godly example and her prayers will be greatly missed by her family. Services were held at two p.m., January 8, 1956 at the Miltonvale College Chapel. They were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Warren Freeborn and assisted by Rev. E. A. Coates of Manhattan, Kansas. Music was furnished by Miss Ruth Johnson, organist, and a mixed quartet. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. Interment was in the Wesleyan cemetery near Oak Hill.
