Dady, 82, died at St. Anthony’s hospital at Carroll Monday following an illness of six weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock at Sacred Heart church. Rev. Fr. Geo. F. Wessling was celebrant of the requiem Mass. Pallbearers were Ed Wolkenhauer, Theo McCartan, D. A. Mitchell, Francis Kelly, E. R. Donohoe and J.A. Schroeder. Interment was in Calvary cemetery beside her husband who died several years ago. Anna Sernett Dady was born Aug. 5, 1863 in Cresco, Iowa. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sernett. She came to Pocahontas county with her parents as a young girl and on March 1, 1897 she was united in marriage with James H. Dady at Pocahontas. Rev. Fr. Pape, then pastor of the Catholic church, performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Dady established their home on their farm two miles north of Pocahontas where they continued to live until (page 6) Mr. Dady’s death. For some time she has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. E. F. Clarke at Arcadia. She was a devout Catholic, a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Christian Mothers’ Society. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. B. C. Yocum of Mankato, Minn., and Mrs. E. R. Clarke of Arcadia, and two sons, James of Ordinance, Ore., and David of Pocahontas. Also one brother, Albert Sernett of Crosby, Minn., fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. John Liska, Albert Chizek and Will Chizek of Garner; Mrs. Mary Sernett and Mrs. C. F. Sawyer of Carroll.” Contributed by Ann Bowler, #46893124
