His age was 29 years, 4 months and 25 days. He was married to Myrtle Cos on December 15, 1926 and to this union were born 4 children, Eunice, Doris, Donald and Joan. Besides his companion and children, there remain to mourn his untimely death, his father and mother, Henry and Tillie Hulsebus Ahrenholtz, his brothers Peter, Louis, Edward and Chester of Defiance and a sister Grace in addition to many relatives and friends. A brother Walter preceded him in death. Arthur was converted during the ministry of Rev Callar and joined the Evangelical church of which he was a member in 1917 during the ministry of Rev Holzpahl. His untimely death came very sudden and was a shock to everyone. We commit his young family into the hands of our heavenly Father, who has promised that he will be a Father to the widow and the fatherless. Short funeral services were held at the home east of Manilla at 12:30 and at 2:00 pm at the United Evangelical church at Defiance on Monday December 24. Services were directed by Rev A.K. Henning and burial was in the Defiance cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben Hulsebus, Albert Hulsebus, Fay Hulsebus, Neal Ahrenholtz, Gilbert Muller and Walter Muller.
