From the Lancaster Daily Eagle of August 23, 1927: "Celebrated 25th Wedding Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. James Valentine of south of Amanda delightfully celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Sunday at their home. At the noon hour, a delicious dinner was served at which covers were placed for forty guests. A pleasant social afternoon was enjoyed and the happy couple received a number of lovely gifts in honor of the occasion." Immediate survivors include her husband, James Valentine; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Smith, Ashville, Mrs. Leona Daud, Lancaster, Helena Mae of the home; two sons, Miller Valentine, Lancaster, Carl Valentine of the home;a stepdaughter, Huldah Duvall, Lancaster, three brothers, Elmer Boystel, Lancaster, Uhlen Boystel, Columbus, Noah Boystel, Springfield and two sisters, Mrs. Louise McDonald, Columbus, Miss Margaret Boystel, Springfield. Funeral services will be held from the Drinkle Methodist Episcopal Church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with Rev. Elsae officiating. Interment will be made in Maple Hill Cemetery by Crites and Van Cleve of Stoutsville."
