Henry Moeller Called by Death Sorrow entered a happy home Wednesday morning, November 11, at 9 o'clock when the final call came to C. Henry Moeller to depart from this earth and to be withdrawn from his dear ones, never to return again. Although it was known that he was seriously ill, his death, nevertheless, came as a great sorrow to his relatives and friends. Mr. Moeller, whose death was caused by cancer of the liver, had attained the age of 63 years, 8 months and 9 days. C. Henry Moeller was born March 2, 1868, in Westphalia, Germany. At the age of one year he came to this country with his parents who made Hooper and vicinity their residence. In the schools of this region he also received his education, and in 1882 he pledged allegiance to his Maker and Redeemer in his confirmation. On March 15, 1887, he was united in matrimony with Miss Johanna Busch and made a farm home located six miles northwest of Hooper his domicile the remainder of his life. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom entering their heavenly home at an early age. His wife preceded him in death on March 23, 1927. He leaves to mourn hs departure, four sons, George, of Scribner; Emil, Alfred and Henry, jr., of Hooper, and one daughter, Mrs. Oscar Siebrass, of Hooper. He is also survived by his aged father, being four score and seven; his brother, John H. C. Moeller, of Hooper, and three sisters; Mrs. J. H. Hartenberger, of Red Bud, Ills., and Mrs. E. J. Rink and Mrs. E. G. Niebuhr, of Hooper. Not only was he recognized as a highly esteemed citizen and desirable neighbor and friend, but being well grounded in the fundamentals of the Christian religion, he was also a faithful church member. He was a man of brilliant intellect and diversified interest. He was a director of the Hooper State Bank and for many years served in the capacity of vice president of the Farmers Mutual Home Insurance Co. of Arlington, and various other positions of community and congregational service were filled by him. His funeral will be held Friday afternoon with short services first at his late home and then from the St. John Lutheran church, northwest of Hooper, the pastor, Rev. Theo. Norden conducting them. Hie earthly remains will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, there awaiting the Master's call of the last day, when the final trumpet is heard, and the deaf, cold grave is stirred.
