He attended elementary schools in Clyde and Auburn and Most Pure Heart of Mary School in Topeka. He graduated in 1960 from Hayden High School and attended Clark’s School of Business. Charles was born February 7, 1942, in Clyde, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Margaret Lambert Koch. He attended elementary schools in Clyde and Auburn and Most Pure Heart of Mary School in Topeka. He graduated in 1960 from Hayden High School and attended Clark’s School of Business. Charles and Nancy Evelyn Hickey were united in marriage on May 8, 1965. She passed away on June 26, 2007. Charlie was a dairy farmer for over 30 years and worked at Whelan’s Lumber. He was a member of the Mid-America Dairymen Association, the Dairy Association and he showed Holstein cattle. Charlie was a member of 4-H in his youth and involved in 4-H with his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of Auburn Township Board and Christ the King Catholic Church. Charlie was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, joining in 1965. He was a member of Council No. 8411 at Christ the King Parish. Grateful to have shared his life are his children, Tim Koch (Gina), David Koch, Michael Koch (Sharron) and Jennifer Hubener (Chris); grandchildren, Brenna, Andrew (Lauren), Allen, Jesse (Lizzie), Ashley, Jacob, Gabriel and Dolo; sisters, Mary Koch, Helen Davis and Linda Wayne (Dennis). A parish rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Monday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, where family will greet friends until 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial follows in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Extension Educational Foundation for Shawnee County 4-H members, sent in care of the funeral home. Added by JH
