Description	:	Charles W. Campbell, 94, of Madison, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at The Waters of Clifty Falls. He was born June 11, 1916, in Vevay, the son of Harold and Laura Manford Campbell. He was raised in Vevay and was a 1933 graduate of Vevay High School. He attended class at the Versailles Technical School for several years. He farmed until the age of 50 and then began a career in maintenance at Madison State Hospital, retiring after 20 years of service. Campbell, 94, of Madison, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at The Waters of Clifty Falls. He was born June 11, 1916, in Vevay, the son of Harold and Laura Manford Campbell. He was raised in Vevay and was a 1933 graduate of Vevay High School. He attended class at the Versailles Technical School for several years. He farmed until the age of 50 and then began a career in maintenance at Madison State Hospital, retiring after 20 years of service. He also worked for five years for the State Highway Department and for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office. He was a former member of Mount Sterling Baptist Church in Switzerland County, serving as a deacon and as a participant in the men's Sunday school class. He and his wife moved from Vevay to Madison in 1979. After moving to Madison, he became a member of North Madison Baptist Church, where he served as trustee. He also was a member of Switzerland Masonic Lodge No. 122 F & A M, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma Lee Ricketts Campbell, whom he married March 23, 1946; and one daughter, Karen Bolton of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life ceremony was at North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard St. A graveside service and burial was in Vevay Cemetery. Madison Courier 10/8/10
