The body will be shipped to Kansas City and brought to Overbrook by the Baker Funeral Mortuary. Probable date for duneral services is Sunday with burial in the Overbrook cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Lena Reed, on daughter, Mrs Nellie Mae Simmonds of Modesto, Califor; three sisters, Mrs Roy Baker, Mrs George Branson of Overbrook and Mrs W D Miller of Topeka; one brother Earl Reed of Denver, Colo.; and three grandchildren. Overbrook Citizen-July 17, 1958 Clyde C Reed, son of Henderson A and Alice (Lemons) Reed, was born in Carbondale, December 21, 1885, and moved with his parents when three years of age to the farm five miles northeast of Overbrook where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Lena Terrill on April 7, 1912. To this union were born two children, Nellie Mae and Harold Arthur. He was farmer and stockman until 1921 when he was employed by the Gillispie Glass Company in Topeka as an apprentice. He also worked for the Acme Glass Company and moved in 1926 to Wichita with Carl Graham Glass Company. In 1941 he moved to Los Angeles. At the time of his death he owned and operated the Hollywood Glass Company in Hollywood, California. He passed away at the family home, suddenly early Wednesday morning, July 16, at the age of 72 years, 6months, and 25 days. His son's life was taken in service of his country August 15, 1943. Those who survive are his wife of the home; a daughter, Mrs Nellie Mae Simmonds of Modesto, California; three grandsons, William and Robert Horader, Modesto, and Kim Reed, Boston, Mass; four sisters, Mrs Laura Hines, Burns, Mrs Zella Miller, Topeka, Mrs May Baker and Mrs Grace Branson, Overbrook; two brothers; two brothers, C N Reed, Overbrook, and Earl Reed, Denver, Colo., several nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Overbrook, July 20, the Rev William Ralphs Officiating. Wayne L Baker, accompanied at the organ by Miss Elizabeth Oveson, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Lord's Prayer". Casket bearers were George Reed, Albert Reed, Harold Allen, Arthur Skaggs, Lloyd Featherston and Harold Atchison. Interment was in Overbrook Cemetery. July 24, 1958-Overbrook Citizen
