Description	:	She was 8 years old, in 1872, when the Vanderbeeks moved from Wisconsin in search of low cost homestead and railroad land on the western frontier. They came with several Dutch families to the Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska Dutch community. She married Gerhard Johan Hendrik Fischer on February 22, 1887 in Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska. They began married life and started their family on a small farm about one quarter of a mile west of the Burlington railroad tracks west of Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska and a half mile north back in the field. Their first 6 children were born here. They moved to the Pella, rural Adams, Lancaster County, area in 1899/1900, Their last 5 children were born in this community. They later purchased 160 acres of land, in the Pella community, that became known as the Fischer home place, and is located at 176th street and Firth road (NW corner). They were blessed with eleven children that grew to adulthood here and they lived on this farm the remainder of their lives. GJH and Diena were members and very active in the Pella Reformed Church, Pella, rural Adams, Nebraska. Diena Vanderbeek Fischer was my grandmother.
