He was engaged in the family farming and livestock activities at a very early age and continued to be a part of the family until he married when he was 21 years old. Henry Fischer and Anna Bouma were married on February 2, 1910 in Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska. Anna Bouma, daughter of Tjeerd Bouma and Johanna Princen, was born on May 10, 1890 on the family farm, one mile north of Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska. They started married life on a rented farm located at 110th street and Princeton road, NE corner and lived there for one year. They then moved to a rented farm one and a half miles south (highway 43 and Firth road, SE corner) of the Pella church. Three of their children, Lawrence, Irene and Harold were born on this farm. Later, they purchased a farm five miles northwest of Adams, and their daughter Carrol was born there. Henry passed away in 1934 while living here. His death was due a ruptured appendix. He was a farmer in the rural Firth, Lancaster County, Nebraska area his entire life. Anna remained on the farm with her four children until they were all married. Their son Harold purchased this farm in 1942 shortly after he married. Anna purchased a house in Adams and lived their in retirement the rest of her life. They were members of the Firth Reformed Church, Firth, Lancaster County, Nebraska.
