Betty was born June 28, 1941, in Topeka to Casper and Catherine Gartner Meier. On July 19, 1958, Betty and Edward Kanicki, the love of her life, were united in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoying more that 47 years together prior to his death on May 2, 2006. Read More	Elizabeth Barbara "Betty" Kanicki, 80, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022, at her home. Betty was born June 28, 1941, in Topeka to Casper and Catherine Gartner Meier. On July 19, 1958, Betty and Edward Kanicki, the love of her life, were united in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoying more that 47 years together prior to his death on May 2, 2006. Betty was a member of American Legion, Post 400. For many years she was a talented Home Interiors consultant assisting in making homes more beautiful. But more than anything, Betty loved her family and was dearly loved in return. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include Betty's sons, grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings. Betty was also preceded in death by her siblings, Delores Christenson, Jack Meier and Vincent Meier. The rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Monday, February 28, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, followed by visitation until 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be private.
