Known children of William and Elizabeth Briggs Powell: 1) Malinda J. Powell, born May, 1821, Ohio; death 1906, Madison Township, Clark County, Ohio. Married Dr. Salmon Buffenbarger who died in 1870. Malinda then married Giles Herrick later in 1870; 2) John Briggs Powell, born March 19, 1824, South Charleston, Clark County, Ohio; death August 18, 1902, Selma, Clark County, Ohio; 3) Marticia Powell, born 1825 in Madison County, Ohio; death December 19, 1889, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; married James R. Tucker, and they had 4 known children; 4) Elizabeth Powell, born April 4, 1829, Ohio; death May 27, 1860, Madison, Clark County, Ohio; 5) Isabella Powell, born 1833, Ohio; death unknown; and, 6) Sarah Catherine Powell, born July 11, 1834, Clark County, Ohio; death August of 1904, Springfield, Clark County , Ohio; married Asher Bond, and they had 5 known children. Elizabeth passed away October 20, 1834 shortly after their last child Sarah was born. William then married Mary Jane Anderson Powell (Memorial No. 58582477) on August 07, 1836 in possibly Clark County, Ohio. They had 7 children: 1) William Powell, 2) Martha 3) Maria Powell (?), 4) George Powell, 5) Minerva Powell, 6) Jerutha Powell, and 7) Salmon Powell. May dear Elizabeth rest in peace in the care of angels. After Samuel died Elizabeth Hempleman Briggs married Jacob Kizer. Elizabeth Briggs Powell is my GG-Grandmother. Elizabeth Hempleman Briggs Kizer was a 3rd G-Aunt.
