Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church. --- Glasco Sun Glasco Sun, Jan. 30, 1947, page 1: Ellen Ott Butler Ellen Ott, daughter of Mathias and Juliana Ott, was born at Iowa Falls, Iowa, February 18, 1870, and died January 22, 1947, at the family home near Glasco, aged 76 years, 11 months and 3 days. She came to Kansas with her parents in 1878, locating on a farm 2 1/2 miles northeast of Glasco. On August 19, 1891, she was united in marriage to Martin Butler in St. Paul's church in Delphos, Kansas. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, six daughters and one son: Elma Windhorst of Glasco; May Davidson and Troy Alderman of Omaha, Neb.; Tressa Grounds of Fresno, Calif; Genevieve Hillhouse of Belleflower, Calif.; Anna Butler of Glasco; and Martin Butler, Jr. of Glasco. Also eleven grandchildren: Carl, Charles, Anna May and Delores Windhorst; Georgia Jean Hillhouse, Jean and Shirley Davidson, Patricia and Michelle Alderman, Marcia and Linda Butler. Also one sister, Minnie Sage of Shelley, Idaho, and three brothers, Edward Ott of Glasco, Dan Ott of Tacoma, Washington; and Arthur Ott of Shelley, Idaho. To know Mrs. Butler was to love her. She was gentle and retiring, a true loving wife and mother, and a friend to all. The many beautiful floral offerings sent by relatives and friends showed the esteem in which she was held. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. Mary's Catholic church, the Rev. Anthony Bevak officiating. Her reamins were laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery near Glasco. Six nephews acted as pallbearers: Earl Beaver, Tom Butler, Willis Harper, Paul Butler, John Harper and Lloyd Garlow. Chaput morticians conducting. May her soul rest in peace.
