Decatur County Journal, Leon, Iowa Thursday, December 22, l92l EMMA FRANCES RICHARDSON, eldest daughter of HARVEY D. and ELIZABETH (LOCKWOOD) RICHARDSON, was born at Bloomfield, Iowa, July 24th, l852, and departed this life at her home in Woodland, Iowa, December l5th, l92l, being 69 years, 4 months and 2l days old. She came to Decatur County with her parents in the year, l854, where they resided on a farm in Woodland Township. She was married to JAMES SELDON BEAVERS, October 27th, l870. To this union were born eleven children, three daughters and one son preceding her to the great beyond. Those left to mourn her departure are her husband and seven children; ROY, JULIA, IRA, GUY, IRL, OKA and FAY, who were all at her bedside except GUY, who lives at West Grove and did not arrive until after she had passed away. She also leaves seventeen grandchildren, one brother, GEORGE RICHARDSON, of Sayre Okla., and one sister, MRS. ALBERT BIDDISON, of Leon, Iowa, and other relatives and friends. She, with the family, resided on a farm west of Woodland until the year, l909, when they moved to Woodland. She had been an invalid for the past eight years with paralysis. Aunt EMMA, as she was called, bore her suffering with patience and kindness and had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed the little children gathering around her and was always pleased when the Ladies Aid Society gathered at her home or she could be taken to meet with them. She was converted nine years ago while a series of meetings were being held here by Rev. Childs and lived a Christian life. She will be sadly missed in the home circle and by the cummunity at large. Funeral services were held at the Union Church, Saturday morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by Rev. Tallant, of Lineville, interment at the Beavers Cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended to show their last respects.
