Clark, was born in Norwalk, Huron county, Ohio, March 24, 1839 and departed this life January 31, 1925 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lulu Grinage where she had spent the last nineteen years of her life, being 85 years, 10 months and 7 days old. She was united in marriage to Henry Colton, January 5, 1862. To this union were born twelve children, ten of whom survive the mother, the husband and two children having preceded her. The living children are: James Colton, Edwin Colton, Mrs. Eva Warsop, Mrs. Nell Throckmorton, Mrs. Cynthia Holbert, George Colton, Mrs. Adelia Bates, Lawrence Colton, Mrs. Lulu Grinage and Lester Colton. Grandma Colton, as she was called by many, was a devoted wife and mother, a great lover of home, always had a kind word of cheer for all who knew her. Besides the children she leaves to mourn their loss: one sister, Mrs. Cynthia Buck, of Springfield, Ill, 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. All the children were with her at the last except one sun, George Colton, of Los Angeles, California. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. W.W. Enyeart. Interment was made in Glasco cemetery.
