Description	:	Delphos Republican July 7, 1949 Pg. 1 Seth Edwin Colton, was born July 22, 1865 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and died in the St.Joseph hospital in Concordia, Kansas on June 28th, 1949 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 24 days. He was the second son of Henry and Esther Colton. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of 18 months and left at the age of 19 and came to Kansas to live with his parents in 1886. Read More	Delphos Republican July 7, 1949 Pg. 1 Seth Edwin Colton, was born July 22, 1865 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and died in the St.Joseph hospital in Concordia, Kansas on June 28th, 1949 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 24 days. He was the second son of Henry and Esther Colton. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of 18 months and left at the age of 19 and came to Kansas to live with his parents in 1886. He was united in marriage to Mary Hurley in April 1893 and to this union five children were born, Ray of Glasco, Theresa of Wichita, Genevieve of Gaylord, Kansas and Leo of Topeka. His wife passeed away October 24, 1948. He missed her very much and was ready to go after she passed on. Ed worked for the railroad for a number of years out of Kansas City, then in 1903 the big flood caused them to leave their home in Kansas City and he moved to his farm near the Bethel school house in March 1910 and farmed until he was 80 years of age. He then sold out and moved to Gaylord, Kansas, where they both passed away. He had been making his home with his youngest daughter Genevieve Labarge and her husband. They were very good to him after he was left alone. He leaves to mourn his passing, five children, nine grandchildren, six brothers and sisters. Nell Throckmorton and Adelia Bates of Delphos, George Colton of Los Angeles, Calififornia, Lester Colton of Long Beach, California, Lulu Grimage of Glasco and Lester Colton also of Glasco and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco with Rev. Anthony Bevak officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery ( St. Mary's ) Cemetery at Glasco. Pallbearers were Paul Butler, Tom Butler, Lawrence Hurley, Fred Holbert, Herman Bates and Harold Grimage. Obit Furnished by friend: Cheryl White
