Description	:	OBITUARY - Esther Katherine Elliott, 90, formerly of Nevada, died of congestive heart failure Wednesday at the Kavanagh House in West Des Moines. Funeral Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Rev. James King officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Esther Katherine Elliott was born near Cambridge, the daughter of Henry and Clara Hanks Brown. She graduated from Shipley High School. On March 12, 1927, she married Ivin Elliott in Nevada; he died April 15, 1995. Mrs. Elliott was a homemaker and helped her husband farm for more than 50 years on their farm north of Cambridge. She also had worked at Donnelley Marketing. For the past two years, she lived at Illahee Hills Retirement Center in Des Moines, having moved there from Nevada. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Nevada, the UMW, and was a charter member of the Urs-N-Myne Club of Cambridge. Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Elliott of West Des Moines and Ronald Elliott of Bangor, Maine; one brother, John Brown of Des Moines; one sister, Thelma Severson of Ames; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, and two brothers. Visitation is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Fridayf at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Memorials may be made to the Kavanagh House in care of Hospice of Central Iowa or to the First United Methodaist Church of Nevada.
