Description	:	FOX, ETTA AUGUSTA—Etta Augusta Fox, daughter of Jacob and Johanna Kirst, was born in Madison township near Geneva, Neb., June 4, 1880. She departed this life in Geneva, November 4, 1966, after a short illness. Mrs. Fox became ill while attending the funeral of her granddaughter’s husband, Dean Deepe, at Carleton and loved only a short time. Etta was united in marriage to Lewis Fox, November 23, 1899. Read More	FOX, ETTA AUGUSTA—Etta Augusta Fox, daughter of Jacob and Johanna Kirst, was born in Madison township near Geneva, Neb., June 4, 1880. She departed this life in Geneva, November 4, 1966, after a short illness. Mrs. Fox became ill while attending the funeral of her granddaughter’s husband, Dean Deepe, at Carleton and loved only a short time. Etta was united in marriage to Lewis Fox, November 23, 1899. The established their home on a farm in Chelsea township, where they resided 30 years. This union was blessed with four sons and two daughters. One son died in infancy in 1909. The surviving children are Harry, Cecil and Ronald Fox and Florence Nun, all of Geneva and Hazel Berge of Omaha. In the winter of 1929, Mr. and Mrs. Fox retired from the farm and moved to Geneva. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary November 23, 1949. Mr. Fox passed away January 30, 1950. Since that time Mrs. Fox has maintained her own home and had lived alone until her passing. All who knew her will remember her as a hard worker, loyal friend and good neighbor, always willing to help where needed. She loved her home and her flowers and garden. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church, W. S. W. S.; the Geneva Woman’s club and Kensington, all of which she attended regularly. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, her parents, and one brother and one sister. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, also three daughters-in-law, Bernice, Mabel and Lucile Fox and two sons-in-law, Clarence Nun of Geneva and Bert Berge of Omaha, six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Jessie Lafferty of Johnstown, Col, Flossie Knox of Clary Center, Neb., Nellie Wilson and Anna Brower of Geneva, and two brothers, Elmer of Lodi, Cal., and Roy of Sterling, Col. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Monday, November 7. Rev. Clifford Bahr of the Geneva Evangelical United Brethren church officiated. Mrs. Alvin Rizer sang “It is No Secret” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Mrs. Oscar Nelson was accompanist. Pallbearers were Wayne Chapman, Roland Knox, Oscar Nelson, Richard Nunns, Russell Snodgrass and Bernard Weiss. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal November 10th, 1966 page 9.
