Read More	May Coats was born to David and Sarah Coats in Iowa County, IA, May 27, 1880 and passed from this life after 5 months in the Memorial hospital at Marengo, Oct. 1, 1958 at 8 p.m. at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 4 days. She grew up on the Coats farm east of the Ohio Methodist Church, and received her education in the country school. She joined the Ohio Methodist Church as a girl and after her marriage she joined the Victor Immanuel Church. On Dec. 19, 1897 at the home of her parents, she was united in marriage to Frank Mohr, who preceded her in death in 1940. Twelve children were born to this union, of whom ten are living, Perle May dying in infancy and Earl in 1944. Her entire life was spent in Iowa and Poweshiek Counties. Mrs. Mohr is survived by four sons and six daughters: Dale Mohr of West Liberty, Everett Mohr of Victor, Mrs. Velma Fullmer of Arcadia, CA., Myrle Mohr of Victor, Mrs. Clelya Schultz of Des Moines, Mrs. Lula Cranston of Deep River, Mrs. Naomi Cranston of Williamsburg, Mrs. Nannie Yount of Olympia, WA., Mrs. Ella Lyons of Minneapolis, MN., and LaVerne Mohr of Pasadena, CA. There are 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Roy Park of Victor, and three brothers, Charlie Coats of Brooklyn, Blaine Coats of La Porte, CO., and Jim Coats of Long Beach, CO. Funeral services were held Sat at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church with the Rev. C. E. McPherson of Ohio and Victor Immanuel churches in charge, assisted by the Rev. N. F. Grote. "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle" were sung by Mrs. George Montgomery, with Mrs. W. H. Bonn at the organ. Taking care of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Brothersen, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dusterhoft and Mr. and Mrs. David Foster. The pallbearers were grandsons: Howard and Harold Mohr, Ronald Mohr, Stephen Shultz, Jerry and Jimmy Cranston, and Merlyn Mohr. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
