He was born April 21, 1903, in Vine [Vining]. He was a machinist for Fixtures, Inc., in Independence, Mo., before he retired in 1968 and moved to Topeka. Read More	Obituary: Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Davidson-Duff Chapel for Frank W. Kohl, 74, 1200 Pinecrest Drive, who died Wednesday night at a Topeka Hospital. He was born April 21, 1903, in Vine [Vining]. He was a machinist for Fixtures, Inc., in Independence, Mo., before he retired in 1968 and moved to Topeka. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the Navy after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints. Mr. Kohl was married to Alison A. Martin. She died in 1952. He married Elsie Bradford on April 20, 1957, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include a son, James W. Kohl, Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Cain, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two step daughters, Mrs. Lula Wunder, 910 Pinecrest Drive, and Mrs. Beulah Wunder, 742 Pinecrest Drive; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kohl will lie in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Topeka. Published in Topeka Daily Capital, April 14, 1978, page 33, col. 3.
