Description	:	Anna Schiermeyer, the oldest of ten children of Ernest and Lina(sic) (Buesig) Grummert, was born on May 8, 1888, and passed away Thursday, February 25, 1988, at the Good Samaritan Home in Superior at the age of 99 years, 9 months and 17 days. She attended Fairview rural school. On May 23, 1906, she was married to Ernst Schiermeyer. This union was blessed with six children. They were engaged in farming until 1946, when they retired and moved to Superior. Her husband died on April 18, 1962. In January of 1971 she entered the Good Samaritan Home because of failing health. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Henry, Fred, Ernest, Herman and John; four sisters, Minnie, Lena, Martha and Elsie; one son, John in 1973; and four grandchildren. Survivors include: four daughters, Bertha Schiermeyer, Alvina Larsen, Esther Spring and her husband Martin of Superior, and Elaine Carley of Emporia, Kansas; one son, Erwin Schiermeyer of Superior; one daughter-in-law, Louise Schiermeyer of Superior; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She remained a faithful christian to the end. The Psalmist says "Blessed in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Funeral services were held Monday, February 19, 1988, at 2:00 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Steven Tjarks officiating. Arlet Schiermeyer, soloist, sang "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus" and "It Is Well With My Soul" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Kenneth Schiermeyer, Glen Schiermeyer, Robert Schiermeyer, Eldrick Grummert, Milvern Grummert, and Vernon Grummert. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Superior, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, March 3, 1988; pg. 2
