Obit: Garfield Capper, Former Resident, Dies During Visit Garfield Capper, 75, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Canton, died Sunday morning in Mercy Hospital from a heart seizure suffered two weeks previously. He was visiting here when stricken ill. Mr. Capper was born in Carrollton and had farmed there until he moved to Canton in 1929. He was employed at The Timken Roller Bearing Co. until his retirement in 1937. He went to Lakeland in 1949 to make his home. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Capper; two sons, Thomas and Edgar Capper, owners of the Capper Garages of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. Joanna Rainsberger of Carrollton and Mrs. Sam Schultz in California; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Spiker Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9. At 8 p.m. there will be a service by Jehovah's Witnesses and at 8;30 by the Rev. W. C. Roark. There will be additional services Tuesday at 3 p.m. (DST) in the church at Palermo where burial will be made. The Rev. Scott George will officiate.
