Surviving are five sons, L.D., Salina; Raymond, Union, Ore.; Vernon, Wichita; Don, with the Air Force in England; and Bill, Minneapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Lila Tipton, Golden, Colo.; Mrs. Donna Hudson, Minneapolis, and Phyllis, Newton; a sister, Mrs. Lida Prushafer, Ada and one brother, Pete, Oregon. The body is at the Fouts Funeral Home, Minneapolis, pending arrangements. Minneapolis Messenger, Ottawa County, Kansas, Nov.24, 1955, page 1 GEORGE WHITE George Phillip White, a resident of Minneapolis for many years, but who had been living in Salina for the past year and a half, died at St. John's hospital there on Wednesday, Nov.16. He had been in the hospital for 37 days. The deceased was born August 24, 1879, on a farm a mile west of Ada, a son of Samuel Richard and Mary Scneder White. He lived most of his life in this general area, and was a member of the Minneapolis church. He is survived by seven children; Mrs. Ralph Tipton of Golden, Colorado; Raymond White of Union, Oregon; Louis, of Salina; William, of Minneapolis; Mrs. LaDonna Hudson of Minneapolis; Miss Phyllis White of Newton; and Donald, who is with the U.S. Army in France; also by one step-daughter, Lela Goodall of Newton; one brother, J. Peter White, of Union, Oregon; one sister, Mrs. Lyda Prushafer, of Ada; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard White. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov.19, at 2:40 p.m. at the Ada Baptist church, with the Rev. William Shroyer of Minneapolis officiating. Music was supplied by Mrs. Harold Mountain and Mrs. Ray Coatney, with Mrs. Eugene Mullen at the piano. Pallbearers were Harry Drake, Fred Sidener, Charles Sidener, Everett Bradbury, Henry Baccus, and Clyde Hogarty. Burial was made at Fairview cemetery at Ada. (also) Ada -- Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tipton of Golden, Colo., Vernon White of Wichita, Mr. and Mrs. John Goodall and family and Phillip White of Newton attended the funeral of George White Friday afternoon.
