Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Friday, August 21, 1936; pg. 3 CAR OVERTURNS; THREE ARE INJURED Miss Geraldine Mileger, Miss Dorothy Blevins and Clyde Peters were injured Monday evening just one mile north of Nelson, when the car that Clyde Peters was driving struck a culvert and overturned. The accident was caused when Clyde lit a cigarette and became blinded from the light of the match, it is believed. The car was almost completely demolished. Miss Mileger's right arm was broken in three places. Miss Blevins had a severe cut on one arm which took three stitches to close. Clyde had a cut across the forehead. Miss Mileger was taken to the Superior hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. Miss Blevins and Mr. Peters were not injured to such an extent so as to be required to be treated at the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mileger, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Mileger, Mrs. Chas. Smith of Clay Center and Mrs. Pete Sigman were called to the Superior hospital this (Thursday) morning by the critical condition of Geraldine Mileger. She was on the operating table. =========================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, August 27, 1936; pg. 1 Auto Injury Proves Fatal to Edgar Girl Geraldine Mileger, 15, of Edgar, who was injured in an automobile accident north of Nelson on Monday of last week, died in the Superior hospital. In the accident the girl had her arm badly smashed and it was found necessary to amputate the member in hope of saving her life, but the shock was too great and she passed away. At the time of the accident, she was riding in a car with Clyde Peters and Dorothy Blevin, also of Edgar, when Peters, the driver, lost control of the car and it plunged into a ditch and upset. The Mileger girl thrust her arm from a window and it was crushed beneath the car. Deceased is survived by her parents, five sisters and six brothers, including a twin brother, Gerald. ======================= The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Friday, August 28, 1936; pg. 1 Geraldine Mileger Funeral services for Geraldine Mileger were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of her parents, with Rev Cecil V. Smith in charge. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic). Music was furnished by Mrs F. W. Hockman and Mrs. W. R. Jacobsen. The pallbeaers (sic) were Beryl Delehoy, John McLaughlin, Robert Koontz, Dale Burkett, Billy James and Marshall Williams. Geraldine Louise Mileger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Mileger, was born on a farm south of Edgar, Nebraska, March 10, 1921. She departed this life at the Superior hospital August 21, 1936, at the age of 15 years, 5 months and 11 days. There is little to be said as to the history of her life but to remember her sweet and friendly disposition. Had she been permitted to remain with us here on earth she would have entered the Edgar high school as a member of the junior class in September. Geraldine was a faithful attendant at Bible school and in the year 1934 she heard and answered the call of her Master becoming obedient onto Him in Christian baptism. She has remained faithful to Him and her church until the time of her passing. She leaves to mourn her death, her parents, five sisters (two sisters, Alta and Cleo, having preceded her in death) Mrs. Alma Smith of Clay Center, Nebraska; Mrs. Iva Dodder, Mrs. Evelyn Foltz and Edith Mileger of Flint, Michigan, and Mrs. Faye Freude of Los Angles, California; six brothers, Oscar, Ralph, Ray and her twin brother Gerald of Edgar, and Harold of Caldwell Idaho, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
