BERT WEED Gertrude Maud Kohl, daughter of George and Susan Kohl, was born Sept. 19, 1881, at Harlan, Iowa, and passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs on Sept. 6, 1943, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 17 days. On February 27, 1909 she was united in marriage to Bert Weed at Council Bluffs. To this union seven children were born six of whom survive. In the year 1924 she united with the Church of Christ in Missouri Valley and has maintained her membership in that church until her death, when she passed away in full confidence and faith in Christ as her eternal and ever~ lasting Savior. Besides her faithful and loving husband she is survived by three daughters, Flossie Good of Mis~ souri Valley, Ruth Adams of Woodbine, and LaVerne Weed of Omaha, and three sons, George of Logan, Harold of the U. S. Army stationed In Texas, and Kenneth at home. One daughter, Bernice, preceded her In death. She Is also survived by her two sisters, Mrs. Inez Donnelson of Missouri Valley, and Mrs. Pearl Unmack of Magnolia, and one bro~ ther, George Kohl of Portland, Oregon. Eight grand children and a host of other relatives and friends. All her life has been spent on farms near Missouri Valley and Logan. She was always a kind and loving mother and wife, and was always thinking of serving others. Though in poor health for the past several months she was always very cheerful and uncom~ plaining. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church In Missouri Valley at 2:30 Wednesday, with the Rev. J. L. Bolden officiating. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Missouri Valley. Pall bearers were Ned Cox, Philip Ben~ son, Amos Kersten, M. R. Cox, L. P. Jacobsen and Robert Deal. The hymns "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Some Day the Silver Cord Will Break", were rendered , by Mrs. Fred Neitsch and Mrs. Blanche Barrett.
