Gallaher, 79, of the Carroll Healthcare Center in Carrollton, died Monday in Aultman Hospital after a long illness. Born August 22, 1910, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Charles and Kathryn (Brake) Gallaher. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church near Petersburg and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles Lodge and Farm Bureau, all of Carrollton. A former resident of Carroll Court, he had been a superintendent of the former Drexel Refractories in Carrollton and was former head security guard for Harrison Hills Park. He was also a retired farmer. Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Tom (Irene) McConnell, Dale and Glenn of Carrollton, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Potts of Leavittsville and Mrs. Louis (June) Chenot of Carl Junction, Misouri; a sister, Leota Hazlett of Wintersville; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, two brothers and a sister are deceased. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. Andrew Angel officiating. Burial will be in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
