Husband of Vivian Hickman Mineart. ----------- Fairfield Ledger Monday July 19, 1999 Raymond Peter Mineart Raymond Peter Minear, 84, of Brighton died early Sunday, July 18, 1999, at McCreedy Home in Washington, Iowa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Paul Connolly officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be said at 7 p.m. today at the church, followed by visitation with the family. A memorial has been established to the Brighton Volunteer First Responders. Mr. Mineart was born Oct. 18, 1914, near Brighton, the son of Henry William and Carrie Grace Lamansky Mineart. He married Vivian Jean Hickman Dec. 5, 1970, in Newhall, Calif. He grew up in the Brighton area and graduated from Brighton High School in 1933. He was a construction worker in 16 different states. Two of the largest projects he worked on were the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona and the Metro System in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1983 and moved back to Brighton. Mr. Mineart was a member of St. Joseph Church; Knights of Columbus Fourth Degreee; past president of the Lake Darling Youth Center Association; menber of Hillcrest Cemetery Association; and a 4-H leader in Brighton. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Janice L. Mineart of Des Moines; one son, Henry W. Mineart or rural Brighton; three grandchildren; five brothers, Curt and Maynard Mineat, both of Washington, David Mineart of Norwalk, and Harold and Leroy Mineart, both of Brighton; and two sisters, Evelyn Gevock of Washington and Margaret Anderson of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by one sister, Christine McClintic; and three brothers, John, Maurice and Sylvester Mineart.
