The deceased was a woman highly esteemed and greatly beloved by her relatives and friends, an affectionate wife and mother and deeply interested in her church. The following obituary has been handed to us: Hattie L. Hall, wife of George Bowman, was born near Linden, Guthrie County, Iowa, December 11th, 1862, and departed this life very suddenly Wednesday morning, January 16th, 1924, aged 62 years, 1 month and 5 days. Her parents, Thomas and Rebecca Hall, were among the early pioneer settlers of Guthrie County and were the parents of sixteen children. Five brothers, John of Rosbury, Oregon, Jess, Lewis and George of Altoona, Kansas, Three sisters, Mrs. Brooks Tuel, Mississippi, Mrs. Ezekiel Tuel and Mrs. A. H. Patrick of Storm Lake survive her. October 4th, 1882, she was united in marriage to George Bowman at Coon Rapids. To this union five children were born, Mrs. Carrie Thomas of Coon Rapids, Myrtle Dailey of Fletcher, South Dakota, Sadie Hollenbeck of McAllen, Texas, and two sons Ralph and Charlie of Coon Rapids. Besides these she leaves to mourn her untimely death, fourteen grandchildren, a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. When she was younger child, her parents moved to Carroll County, locating in the Star Community. She converted early in life and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church August 4th, 1889. In the early days of her life she did not have much of an opportunity of obtaining an education, yet as life unfolded to her, she took advantage of every opportunity to learn, and through this means became one of the most widely informed and best educated in the community. She was of a very kindly and generous nature. She took a deep interest in civic life and in the affairs of the community and was especially helpful to the poor in their time of need. She was loyal to the Christ, who she loved and served. She was a member of both the Woman's Home Foreign Missionary Society and active in the work of the Ladies' Aid Society of the church. She was an associate member of the Royal Neighbors and an active member of the Home Culture Club. Whenever she led in this, the lesson was sure to be one of great interest to all present. To all outward appearance the past year, she seemed to be so much stronger and in better health than usual, those nearest to her had nothing to warn them of the nearness of the end to this beautiful life.
